Unlike other "supergun" type products available on the market, the JAMMATV does not use proprietary joystick controls or power supplies... instead, it supports standard Sony Playstation controllers and ATX ("computer") power supplies!

By supporting Sony Playstation controllers you can choose your own "favorite" type of control (anything from an original Sony "joypad" to a PSX compatible Interact "ShadowBlade arcade stick" will work) and you aren't stuck the only control that comes with other similar products. As an added benefit, since odds are good you already own a Playstation, you don't need to pay extra for proprietary controllers when you already have a Playstation when you buy the JAMMATV-- so the JAMMATV costs a lot less!

The JAMMATV is designed to stake out 'middle ground' between the "home made" JAMMA converter where you would put everything together yourself from parts, and an "off the shelf" unit selling for up to $300.

The JAMMATV will be available in two configurations:

• Standard JAMMATV unit - you add a "PC style" ATX power supply and at least one Playstation compatible controller.
• Deluxe JAMMATV unit - includes a 'mini-ATX' power supply, you add at least one Sony Playstation compatible controller.

The JAMMATV has the following standard features:

• Premium quality Sony video converter providing Svideo (S-VHS) and Composite video outputs.
• Dual RCA-style audio outputs for connection to your TV/Stereo/VCR/DVR
• Dual Sony Playstation controller connectors (player 1 and player 2)
• Industry standard ATX power supply connector with soft-power switch on the JAMMATV unit
• Software joystick configuration (allows you to play "vertical" games on the horizontal TV by virtually 'rotating' the joystick controls either 90 or 270 degrees for you).
• Adjustable-rate auto-fire, regardless of if your joystick supports it or not.
• Red, Green, Blue adjustments for game boards with strong (or weak) color outputs.
• Expansion connector for hooking up extra buttons ("kick harness").
• Full Neo Geo 4-button controller support standard.
• High impact plastic case with full product label showing all ports/connections.
• Fully compatible with all standard 60Hz, 15KHz (standard resolution) game boards.
• With some luck, the JAMMATV will be ready to ship by the end of the year (2002). Plastic cases are taking forever though, so it might not be ready to roll until Q1.

Expected pricing is $159 for the Standard version and $179 for the Deluxe.
